1970s square cut glass ceiling lights (v2)

Era: 1970s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Starting life during former Czechoslovakia’s oppressive communist rule, these 1970s pendants were salvaged from a railway departure lounge in Prague. Two cut-glass prismatic shades provide a bright and dispersed glow when illuminated. Sitting within a metal enclosure, the original components and unique finish are retained through sensitive restoration. Great for lounges, lobbies, bedrooms and dressing areas. Take a look at the surface-mounted version here.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.
