Retro low profile Czech pendants

Stylish and sleek retro Czech pendants refurbished by hand with their original black finish to the aluminium shade. A lower convex opaline glass lens and an etched glass to the top which allow for uplighting. These would make real feature pendants in a hallway or living room.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Different materials require different processes and we are fascinated by interesting surfaces and patinas, that’s why we tend not to repaint our lights as this can make them look too ‘new’ and they lose some of their of individuality. The original surface of this light has been retained, restored and sealed using crystalline waxes, All forms of surface sealing are designed to protect and enhance the surface of the lights.

Supplied tested and rewired with 2 metres of elephant grey braided cable, and a minimal wire suspension and ceiling mounted kit.
