These industrial REVO pendants began life in 1930s Britain. Salvaged from a decommissioned M.O.D site in the North of England. Comprising a substantial enamelled steel enclosure with the manufacturer’s original cast details and clear glass lens. Perfect for shops, kitchens and bars.

Lighting design in the UK benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time, designing and producing similar products for the same market. Often with only slight differences in their style, they constantly upgraded and improved their original designs. The products we salvage come from the old industrial heartland of England. This area of the UK was once the boiler room of the British economy - from the potteries of Stoke, through the engineering works of Birmingham, to the wool, textile and cotton mills of Oldham and Manchester.

Restoration

With these particular pendants, the richness and patina of their surface tell us the story of the lights that we came to salvage. Once the meticulous restoration process is complete, the final step is reassembly. All of the components, both new and refurbished, are pieced back together in our workshops. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origin and history we’ve discovered through our research. The next chapter in each light’s story is up to you.

Lights bearing the iconic REVO stamp once illuminated the streets, railways, and factory floors that served the hotbed of British industry in the 1920s-1960s. With enduring appeal and quality craftsmanship, from racing green enamelled shades, to steel bulkhead fittings and prismatic lanterns, the products in our historic REVO range have been meticulously and sensitively restored to ensure they are as beautiful today as when they were originally manufactured many years ago.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable, please just ask.

REVO was founded in the early 20th century and became a household name in the 1930s, when electric street lighting was widely introduced throughout the UK. Based in Tipton, Staffordshire, REVO engineers were famed for their creativity, often developing styles of lighting individual to the towns for which they were designed. This means that whilst there are a wealth of classic REVO styles, from prismatics and enamels to machinist lights and bulkheads, there are also some incredible individual rarities to be found.
