Oxidised Czech factory shades

Era: 1950s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

These Czechoslovakian ceiling lights started life in factories in the Eastern Bloc. Manufactured in 1950, they've since travelled across the continent, bringing their rich heritage, original prismatic glass wells, dove grey enamelled shades and steel galleries with them. A carefully oxidised upper gallery adds warmth to the industrial style, perfect for creating downward lighting above kitchens, or offices.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

A quick word from our customers

Beautiful Light!

I toyed with this light for ages before I bought it, thinking it was a lot of money. When I eventually ordered and received the light, I was not disappointed. I love this light, so heavy, chunky and in my eyes, gorgeous. It will look brilliant in my dining room, in my newly renovated farmhouse.
