Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

The skinflint team have preserved the original black paint finish of these enamelled shades- as a result, each light has its own unique surface patina. A new etched glass screen has been fitted which provides an even glow when the lights are lit. They can be angled and locked in position on the bracket, making them ideal for lighting an object or focusing light on a wall.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of industrial black suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate.(If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
