Salvaged from a hotel foyer in Prague, former Czechoslovakia, these opulent 1970s chandeliers are part of a rich Bohemian glassmaking history. Striking by design, six glass globes feature a moulded diamond pattern that produces a bright dispersed light when illuminated. Polished brass arms are decorative in style, with four smaller glass globes adorning the central rod. Perfect for adding drama to bars and restaurants.
Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

The restoration process our lighting goes through can take many months. To begin, we gently disassemble each light fitting, letting us spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Then, our team of experts patiently restore each component by hand. Typically, this might mean: Soda-blasting – an environmentally friendly way to remove old paint; Polishing – to restore and revitalise the surface of the light; Lacquering – a sealing process that protects the light’s surface from further deterioration; Rewiring – so the light works perfectly, every time.
Each light is supplied tested and rewired with 6.no new screw (E27) lamp holders.
