1930s Czech entrance feature lights

Era: 1930s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Elegant Art Deco pendants, originally manufactured on the outskirts of Prague in 1930. Once illuminating hallways in private homes, a ribbed glass opaline produces a soft glow of illumination when lit, pairing perfectly with a warm copper gallery. Chain suspended for a sleek and refined finish, making fabulous feature and entrance lights in private residences.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Over the years, we’ve restored thousands of lights that would otherwise have been lost forever - meticulously examining, refurbishing and updating one part at a time. But we don’t only piece together the light’s components. We also take the time to investigate its history, studying our archive of old manufacturer’s catalogues for clues to assemble the whole story.

Spot on

I’ve now purchased five different products over two home refurbishments. Alongside the product, the service, speed and packaging it is spot on. It's only skinflint that make me wish I had another project to work on and a larger property to kit out.
