From our restoration workshop here in South West Cornwall, to Wolfburn Distillery located on the far-flung North Coast of Scotland, our vintage lights really do travel the breadth of the U.K., Europe and beyond. Wolfburn has been crafting its single malt Scotch whiskey by hand since 1821. 

For those of us interested in preserving heritage and the back-story behind a product (guilty!), the history of the Wolfburn brand and the region’s whiskey making tradition make for a fascinating read. Brought back to life from literal ruins and surviving the little-known quarter-century-long prohibition imposed on the key fishing port of Wick closeby, Wolfburn continues to stand the test of time… Just like our vintage lights.

Fast forward 200 years, and today Wolfburn is Caithness’ largest distillery. Its new purpose-built location is just a short walk along the ‘burn’ (Scottish for river) from the flagstone remains of the original building. Here, its award-winning liquor is matured, bottled and sold on-site. Next to the mash tuns, stills and oak barrels of the inner workings of the distillery, three of our XL Eastern Bloc industrial pendants lead visitors to the retail area and light up the display below. Although arguably a small role in its long evolution, skinflint is pleased to be playing its part in Wolfburn’s next chapter and future.
