Arts & Crafts industrial kitchen & diner lighting

Enter the newly renovated colourful Arts & Crafts family home in Bedford, created by interior designer Brooke Copp-Barton. Preserving its original features and authenticity, this charming project remains in keeping with the 19th century Arts & Crafts house design with its open floor plan, natural materials and light and airy spaces that encourages interaction with the outdoors. Warm and cosy, this vintage-style home not only echoes the artistic designs of the past but also provides the everyday necessities for modern family life.
The dining area consists of both new and old quirky pieces such as the commission bespoke wooden table and sofa and a trio of our very own British machinist work lights. Made by E.D.L and dating back to the 1950s, these wall lights were once used in workshops to illuminate workbenches and machinery. Updated for modern use, they are perfect for task lighting and their green enamel shades harmonise with the evergreen paint work within the space.
Through into the kitchen, above the island, you can see a row of our 1950s suspended Czech lights. These pendants were salvaged from an industrial site within the former Eastern Bloc and their original clear glass wells offer ample down lighting - perfect for family cooking. The aged patina of the vitreous enamelled shades complement both the colourscape of the vintage storage unit of the island and the patterned encaustic tiles of the kitchen walls.
