Vintage hemispherical lighting salvaged from the former Czechoslovakia. The white opaline glass shade sits within a lacquered steel and bakelite enclosure. These lights are suitable for installation as either wall and ceiling lights.
Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of the former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

All of the components, both new and refurbished, are meticulously pieced together in our workshops. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origins and history we’ve discovered through our research. What happens next is up to you.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder.
