A large run of pendants salvaged from Czechoslovakia. Hand blown opaline glass globes with original black Bakelite covers and short stem stanchions. We can also supply these with white Bakelite galleries if preferred.
Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of the former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

But we don’t only piece together the light’s components. We take the time to investigate its history, studying old catalogues for clues and assembling the whole story.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, traditional black braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).

I toyed with this light for ages before I bought it, thinking it was a lot of money. When I eventually ordered and received the light, I was not disappointed. I love this light, so heavy, chunky and in my eyes, gorgeous. It will look brilliant in my dining room, in my newly renovated farmhouse.
