Eastern Bloc factory lights salvaged from industrial sites in Hungary. Featuring a vitreous enamelled steel shade and black rim detail with an oxidised and sealed steel enclosure. The industrial heritage is emphasised with slight localised wear to the enamel.
We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.
View all lights from HungaryEach original vintage light in our oxide collection has been restored to ensure their deep russet tones and authentic heritage shines on. The lights feature an interesting array of rich surface patinas and specially treated steel or iron enclosures that have been sealed in our workshop to prevent further ageing.
Each light is supplied new screw (E27) lamp holders, 2mtrs of industrial black steel suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
