Industrial pendant lights by Victor

Era: 1960s Origin: UK

Striking 1960s British industrial pendants by Victor. The original surface on the steel enclosure has been sensitively waxed and sealed, highlighting the authentic, aged surface patina. All the original elements of the light have been retained including the prismatic glass lens, emphasising the age and character of the light. NB: Only 1 of the 2 pendants is supplied with the cage (pictured).

UK

Origin: UK

Lighting design in the UK benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time, designing and producing similar products for the same market. Often with only slight differences in their style, they constantly upgraded and improved their original designs. The products we salvage come from the old industrial heartland of England. This area of the UK was once the boiler room of the British economy - from the potteries of Stoke, through the engineering works of Birmingham, to the wool, textile and cotton mills of Oldham and Manchester.

Restoration

The restoration process our lighting goes through can take many months. To us, restoring a light doesn’t necessarily mean making it ‘like new’. We often preserve the visible signs of age, such as spots of wear and patina testament to the light's heritage and story. Or we might reveal the bare metal, accentuating its build and design. Giving you a truly unique vintage light with individual character.
