Serving on a U.S. naval warship throughout the Cold War, these 1950s pendants witnessed action in Korea and Vietnam. Manufactured to withstand hazardous environments, an enamelled shade features patina indicative of its rich naval history with steel caging surrounding the glass well. A large polished aluminium gallery features manufacturer’s labels and castings. Perfect for creating statements in kitchens and bars.
Unlike the communist Eastern Bloc countries, lighting design in mid-century U.S.A. benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time designing and producing similar products for the same market, often with only slight differences in their style. Due to the location we rarely have the opportunity to reclaim and restore light fixtures from the U.S.A., but some of our perennial favourites are the old signal lights that adorned the highways of the midwest. We reconfigure and restore these timeless classics into functional pendant lights, for both residential and commercial use.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable, please just ask.
