Step through the doors of Alice and James' family home in London and into the architectural designs of Sara Moody, founder of Shacklewell Architects. Thoughtfully renovated throughout, Sara looked to create better connections between each room, making the most of the house’s space and character. From room to room, you can find an ebony colour palette, especially in the kitchen where clean white walls contrast with the rich moody hues of the units and our vintage industrial German factory shades.
Carefully designed with elegance and practicality in mind, this spacious open plan kitchen diner with its midnight cabinets is the epitome of modern chic. The large bi-folding doors allow a generous amount of light whilst the seamless indoor/outdoor floors also make the garden a part of the space, offering a splash of colour to the black and white tones.
Hanging above the kitchen island are three of skinflint’s reclaimed industrial German factory lights in the Bauhaus style. Chosen by James and restored by hand by us at skinflint, the black enamel offers a striking distinction to the white worktops, brass taps and micro cemented floor whilst still keeping with the charcoal scheme of the cabinets. The shades make for a unique feature piece and offer exactly what the whole kitchen was designed for - practicality and style.
