Lit by skinflint: Argylle
Ever wondered what happens when an author’s novels start to come true? Well, look no further than Matthew Vaughan’s new spy flick, Argylle. With a star-studded cast, this Apple TV+ production spares no expense as writer Elly Conway, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, gets caught up in an espionage whirlwind that takes her all over the globe.
The beautiful set design follows a familiar pattern of spy films travelling from places of luxury and elegance, to abandoned warehouses and dark alleys. At skinflint we have original vintage lights to bring authenticity to any set, whether you need sleek opaline pendants or oxidised wall lights.
Our industrial caged bulkheads can be seen in France, hidden in a secret room nestled in an idyllic vineyard set. Their commanding appearance centres Samuel L. Jackson’s character, and their original patina pulls together the antique and elegantly distressed features of the room.
Whilst their design leans more towards the industrial aesthetic you might find in a derelict building, these 1970s pieces were used to elevate a modern-yet-elegant set, with their authentic finish drawing on the more tech-oriented details of the room.
