Manhattan Townhouse industrial pendant lighting
Photography credit: Plain English
Following their launch in the United States, Plain English is now working on a range of projects from New York to California, as well as continuing their work in the United Kingdom. Seen here, a sense of ordered serenity pervades their latest project in downtown Manhattan, New York, featuring Plain English’s Spitalfields shaker kitchen.
Mirroring the brand’s heritage, quality craftsmanship, and aesthetic nods to the past, the space also features one of our polished aluminium 1950s vintage Benjamin pendant lights. The statement piece, which was salvaged from a British factory, hangs over the kitchen dining table providing illumination below while complementing the sheen of the chrome cupboard catches and taps.
Between the cupboards, painted in soft grey, is the comfort of a single Aga while the understated doors to the kitchen island are painted in Plain English’s ‘Draughty Passage’. With raw oak featuring on the interior of the open shelving and further glimpses of timber behind the doors of the wall cupboards, all of the elements alongside our vintage pendant light work in harmony to produce a beautiful blend of mixed materials, colours and textures.
