The alluring glow of our vintage pendants and the tempting smell of freshly baked pizza is enough to draw a crowd away from the waterfront in St. Ives and straight into Host. If, like us, you’ve been closely following the restoration of the iconic Victorian stone building on social media, you’ll know about husband and wife team Rassie and Victoria Cloete’s focus on utilising local skilled craftspeople and suppliers (skinflint included) to transform the old stone Natwest bank into a vibrant drinking and dining hub with luxury suites above. Reusing and recycling as many of the building’s original features as possible, furnishings were either supplied by high-quality British manufacturers, or expertly reclaimed and restored, just like the varying selection of vintage lights from us here at skinflint.
From the cold cobbled streets outside, it’s impossible to resist the milky warmth of the array of teardrop pendants glimpsed through the glass doors inside. You’ll also find our vintage cargo ship lights illuminating the walls and complementing the bronze and brass detailing of the wider space. So whether you’re in the mood for fancy cocktails and live music, or one of their famous ‘Host Roasts’ tucked away in the old bank vault out back, Host has got us locked in.
