Certifications

At skinflint we are continually striving to achieve business excellence, not only by developing our own internal processes and the ways in which we salvage and restore our vintage lights, but also by driving excellence in the wider lighting industry as a whole. Our achievements are recognised by a number of different accreditations and certifications.

UK Lighting Industry Association (LIA)

skinflint is a proud member of the UK Lighting Industry Association (LIA), the largest trade association in Europe representing leading manufacturers and suppliers, wholesalers and retailers of lights and components. As a member, you can be certain that:

- Our workshop team receive ongoing, expert and up-to-date training and compliance support in relation to quality product assembling, testing and certification.

- We maintain a close relationship with associated trade and Government bodies at home and abroad to ensure our products, processes and services remain at the cutting edge of the industry.

British Standards

As a member of the UK British Lighting Association (LIA) we are independently audited, approved and verified to ensure all our lighting products meet the requirements of BS EN 60598-1, the lighting industry directive covering classification, marking, mechanical & electrical construction and safety.

UL certification

As standard, our original vintage lights, due to their antique and often one-off nature, are not UL listed (only applicable to commercial projects in the U.S.A. and Canada). However, UL listing can be undertaken upon application, please contact the studio for more information. We are currently working to obtain full UL certification of our products through our membership with the UK LIA.
