Concorde Test House lights (Type 2A)

Luminaire Reference: 14_2135

Stunning British industrial light by 'Holophane' salvaged from the National Turbine Test facilities at Pyestock, Fleet, UK. Circa 1950. Polished aluminium body featuring a cast makers marks to the front bezel with new etched glass screen.

Supplied with new bayonet (B22) lamp holders.

Can be used in either a vertical or horizontal orientation making them suitable for both wall and ceiling applications.

Pyestock: A brief history.

The National Gas Turbine Establishment (NGTE Pyestock) was established in the early 1950s and was the prime site in the UK for design and development of gas turbine and jet engines. For over 50 years Pyestock was at the forefront of gas turbine development. It was probably the largest site of its kind in the world. V bomber, Harrier, Tornado and Concorde engines were tested on site. The power of the test houses allowed Concorde's engines to be tested at 2,000 mph
