Luminaire Reference: 13_1551

British industrial pendant lights by 'Victor' salvaged from the National Turbine Test facilities at Pyestock, Fleet, UK. Circa 1950. Polished aluminium body with interesting cast makers marks to enclosures. Supplied with new bayonet (B22) lamp holders, 2mtrs of industrial steel suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate.

The National Gas Turbine Establishment (NGTE Pyestock) was established in the early 1950s and was the prime site in the UK for design and development of gas turbine and jet engines. For over 50 years Pyestock was at the forefront of gas turbine development. It was probably the largest site of its kind in the world. Concorde, Harrier and Tornado engines were tested on site. The power of the test houses allowed Concorde's engines to be tested at 2,000 mph.
