Starting their journey in former Czechoslovakia in the 1950s, these lights were a product of state-controlled factories during the height of Communism. With increased production, they were widely used across the country, from private residences to hotel lobbies and schools. Now converted to wall lights, each tiered opaline silhouette offers a warm, even distribution of light, making them ideal for restaurants, bars, and shops. See the pendant version here.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.
