Origin: Hungary

We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Over the years, we’ve rescued and restored thousands of lights that would otherwise have ended up at landfill - we’re a Certified B Corp so taking care of our planet is always high on our agenda. These lights by Benjamin have lived long industrious lives but careful restoration means their original manufacturer’s labels and signs of wear are retained.

Love the lights, love your ethos. Absolutely what more companies need to be doing. I have my Retro Czech Ceiling Lights (V2) in my dining room and the spray of light they give off is gorgeous and unusual.
