A large run of 1970s glass wall lights salvaged from Hungary. Once adorning the walls of municipal buildings in Budapest, these square surface-mounted lights comprise black powder coated steel wall plates and moulded white opaline glass enclosures. Perfect for illuminating smaller spaces, creating a soft even glow when lit.
We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

First, we gently disassemble each light fitting allowing us to spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Our team of experts then patiently restore each component by hand. The finished result is a meticulously restored vintage light that is ready for use for decades more to come.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder. The lights are suitable for use as both wall and ceiling fittings.
