Striking in size and designed for visual impact, these two-part enamelled shades bagan life in Poland in the 1960s. A polished aluminium upper gallery features manufacturer's markings, reminiscent of the era whilst a glass lens and steel bezel add character. Perfect for downlighting over chef's kitchens, studios, galleries, restaurants, bars and more.
Many of the products we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc were produced in Poland. As with the majority of lights designed and manufactured under Communist rule - during the period from the end of the Second World War to the fall of the Berlin wall - they are defined by a clean industrial aesthetic, with the same design often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.
View all lights from PolandThe final step of the restoration process of each light is reassembly. All of the components, both new and refurbished, are meticulously pieced together in our workshops. Each light is then photographed and added to our collection alongside information about its origins and history we’ve discovered through our research. What happens next is up to you.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
