An impressive feature light comprising of a set of three salvaged American traffic lights by MTS (McCain Traffic Supply). Now converted to a suspended light it is a statement piece ideal for the living room or kitchen. . The aluminium enclosure has been fully restored and polished, featuring cast branding, and fitted with a new etched glass screen to provide a diffused light when illuminated.
Unlike the communist Eastern Bloc countries, lighting design in mid-century U.S.A. benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time designing and producing similar products for the same market, often with only slight differences in their style. Due to the location we rarely have the opportunity to reclaim and restore light fixtures from the U.S.A., but some of our perennial favourites are the old signal lights that adorned the highways of the midwest. We reconfigure and restore these timeless classics into functional pendant lights, for both residential and commercial use.

At skinflint we tend not to repaint surfaces, preferring instead to stay true to the heritage and individual story of each light. These historical timepieces have been restored and polished, retaining their character with slight marks on the outer surface.
Each light is supplied tested and rewired with 3no. G9 lamp holders, 2metres of elephant grey braided power cable, and wire ceiling mounting system.
