Stylish retro cross-cut diamond glass pendants salvaged from former Czechoslovakia. These stunning feature pendants provide a fantastic glow and effect when illuminated. Fitted with a new spun aluminium gallery and sensitively restored to simple cable-suspended pendant lights.
Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

To begin, we gently disassemble each light fitting, letting us spot any flaws and plan how best to bring it up to modern electrical standards. Then, our team of experts patiently restore each component by hand. Typically, this might mean: Soda-blasting – an environmentally friendly way to remove old paint; Polishing – to restore and revitalise the surface of the light; Lacquering – a sealing process that protects the light’s surface from further deterioration; Rewiring – so the light works perfectly, every time.
Supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of Stainless Steel braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
