Origin: Poland

Many of the products we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc were produced in Poland. As with the majority of lights designed and manufactured under Communist rule - during the period from the end of the Second World War to the fall of the Berlin wall - they are defined by a clean industrial aesthetic, with the same design often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

As depicted within the images, these lights were installed in the Konstal 13N tram produced between the years 1959-1969 by 'production plant Konstal' in Chorzow Poland. The 13N was a Polish copy of the Czechoslovakian Tatra T1 produced by CKD which supplied most of the trams in the Eastern Bloc.

Beautiful Light!

I toyed with this light for ages before I bought it, thinking it was a lot of money. When I eventually ordered and received the light, I was not disappointed. I love this light, so heavy, chunky and in my eyes, gorgeous. It will look brilliant in my dining room, in my newly renovated farmhouse.
