Elegant industrial vintage pendant lighting by British manufacturer 'Falks'. Substantial two part polished aluminium enclosure featuring cast manufacturers marks 'Falks Made in England' with original internal reflector and convex glass lens.
Lighting design in the UK benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time, designing and producing similar products for the same market. Often with only slight differences in their style, they constantly upgraded and improved their original designs. The products we salvage come from the old industrial heartland of England. This area of the UK was once the boiler room of the British economy - from the potteries of Stoke, through the engineering works of Birmingham, to the wool, textile and cotton mills of Oldham and Manchester.

Supplied with new screw (E27) lamp holders, 2mtrs of industrial steel suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. Can be converted to accept screw (E26) lamp holders (for use in USA) if required.

Established in 1881, ‘Falk, Stadelmann and Co. Ltd’ of 91 Farringdon Road, London, were originally importers of, amongst other products, gas fittings and paraffin lamps. In 1962, Falk, Stadelmann and Co changed its name to Falks Ltd - but sadly after poor trading years in the late 1960s the company was taken over by Jessel Investments, who sold off all property and ceased manufacturing activities. We regularly come across lighting by Falks - their prismatic wall lights were particularly well made and remain a timeless industrial classic.
