Industrial German factory lights

Era: 1930s Origin: Germany

Salvaged Bauhaus style German factory lights from the 1930s, with an enamelled steel shade and short neck, complete with the original lacquered steel gallery. The lights have been carefully restored with small amounts of wear in testament to the age of the products.

Origin: Germany

German designs are famed for their clean lined and well engineered approach. The Bauhaus School played a major role in combining design with engineering during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A number of lights we salvage were influenced by Bauhaus School design. From the mid to late 20th century, Communist East Germany produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications, often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Over the years, we’ve restored thousands of lights that would otherwise have become scrap - examining, refurbishing and updating one part at a time. But we don’t only piece together the light’s components. We take the time to investigate its history, studying old catalogues for clues and assembling the whole story.

Everyone adores our lights

We adore skinflint lights. Thank you for our latest buy retro Czechoslovakian pendant (V2). We love it, as well as the 1950s Polish street light and industrial pendant lighting we bought from you. We hope you like how we have used them in our home.
