Industrial pendant lights salvaged from a Hungarian piggery. A vitreous enamelled white steel shade with a black rim detail and the original polished aluminium long finned gallery. These fittings would make perfect feature lights above a kitchen island or worksurface.
We salvage high volumes of industrial and decorative lighting from this landlocked former Eastern Bloc country. Hungarian industrial enamel shades are often available in blue or white, whereas the decorative glassware has more of a clean line and timeless design. In the mid to late 20th century, the Communist east produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.
View all lights from HungaryThis light has been refurbished by hand, retaining the character to the enamel which shows slight wear, but emphasises the age of the product. Restoring a light doesn’t necessarily mean making it ‘like new’. We often preserve the visible signs of age, such as spots of wear and patina, to give a hint about the light’s first story.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
