Origin: Germany

German designs are famed for their clean lined and well engineered approach. The Bauhaus School played a major role in combining design with engineering during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A number of lights we salvage were influenced by Bauhaus School design. From the mid to late 20th century, Communist East Germany produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications, often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

As it was originally designed as a work light, the lamp is designed to be fully articulated at the shade and arm joints, with 180deg rotation at the wall plate/base. The lamp is suitable for different applications, by simply rotating the rear wall plate on installation, the light can be used as either a wall, ceiling or table-mounted work light. The installation card shown here is from our own internal manufacturer's archive and would have been supplied with the products when the product was originally retailed.

A quick word from our customers

Beautiful light

What a great light - we're really happy with it! Delivery time was really quick too. Will be purchasing other lights from you in due course.

Brilliant customer service

I am extremely happy with skinflint's products and customer service. Pansy was very approachable and understanding. She was also very quick to respond to any queries and always followed up any emails or telephone conversations.

- Shakilah | Buckinghamshire | UK

Spot on

I’ve now purchased five different products over two home refurbishments. Alongside the product, the service, speed and packaging it is spot on. It's only skinflint that make me wish I had another project to work on and a larger property to kit out.

A piece of history

We found exactly what we wanted at skinflint: large industrial pendant lights from an old Dunlop Aerospace factory. They fill the space beautifully and we often get asked where they were sourced. With such heritage attached to them, they are like a piece of history that adds to the modern vintage feel we wanted to create.
