Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your project. The first and most important stage is fully dismantling each and every light - we do this even if we have hundreds of identical lights. We then undertake an in-depth review of its construction and following that, map its journey through restoration.

Supplied with new screw (E27) lamp holders, 2mtrs of industrial steel suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. Can be converted to accept screw E26 lamp holders (for use in USA) if required. Please state at point of order.
