Eastern Bloc factory lights (V2)

Era: 1950s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

These 1950s imposing pendants were salvaged from factories in former Czechoslovakia. Industrial in style, their powder-coated upper galleries feature manufacturer's marks that speak of their era and heritage, contrasting against enamelled shades. A great addition to restaurant dining areas, bars and shops as well as kitchen islands.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Over the years, we’ve restored thousands of lights that would otherwise have been lost forever, examining, refurbishing and updating each part at a time. But we don’t only piece together the light’s components. We take the time to investigate their history, studying old catalogues for clues to assemble the whole story.
