1960s rodded opaline pendant

Era: 1960s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Starting life in Prague, former Czechoslovakia, these 1960s pendants were manufactured at the peak of the Cold War. Sensitively restored to preserve all original components; each fixed rodded pendant features a bulbous opaline shade. Sleek and sophisticated, great for making a statement in commercial lounges, lobbies and restaurants as well as foyers in private residences.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Restoration

Every one of our lights goes through a variety of processes to bring it from the worn and often dilapidated state it arrives in, to a stage where it is ready for your project. The first and most important stage is fully dismantling each and every light - we do this even if we have hundreds of identical lights. We then undertake an in-depth review of its construction and following that, map its journey through restoration.
