Beginning life when political unrest was at its height in former Czechoslovakia, these 1960s opaline pendants once illuminated private residences in Plzeň. An angled glass shade provides a soft and even glow when illuminated, contrasting against the large matte black gallery. This large run of pendants is perfect for creating ambiance in bars and restaurants.
Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

The first and most important stage is fully dismantling each and every light - we do this even if we have hundreds of identical lights. We then undertake an in-depth review of its construction and following that, map its journey through restoration.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, black twisted cable and ceiling mounting plate. If you would prefer another colour cable, please just ask.
