1950s Josef Hurka Halo Lights

Era: 1950s Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

These rare fixed rod pendants are true collector's pieces, designed by famed former Czechoslovakian designer Joseph Hurka and manufactured by NAPAKO in the 1950s. Sensitively restored without compromising the original factory finish, the two-part multi-level enclosure houses an etched glass lens, producing a striking halo glow when lit. Great for commercial receptions, hotels and lobbies, as well as hallways in homes.

Origin: Czechoslovakia (former)

Much of the lighting we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc was produced in the manufacturing powerhouses of former Czechoslovakia. Under Communist rule the same design was often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage. The country is also famed for its beautiful glassware, with both wall and ceiling opaline glass lights often being used in public and residential settings, such as housing blocks and schools.

Love the lights, love your ethos. Absolutely what more companies need to be doing. I have my Retro Czech Ceiling Lights (V2) in my dining room and the spray of light they give off is gorgeous and unusual.
