Vintage green enamelled pendant lights by REVO - the British lighting powerhouse of the 1920s-1960s. Salvaged from a 1950s electrical substation in the UK's North West, these early vitreous enamelled pendants have been sensitively restored to keep their original debossed logos and cast aluminium galleries intact.
Lighting design in the UK benefitted from a free market. Different companies were working at the same time, designing and producing similar products for the same market. Often with only slight differences in their style, they constantly upgraded and improved their original designs. The products we salvage come from the old industrial heartland of England. This area of the UK was once the boiler room of the British economy - from the potteries of Stoke, through the engineering works of Birmingham, to the wool, textile and cotton mills of Oldham and Manchester.

In a competitive marketplace, REVO reinvented its brand and logo many times over the decades in keeping with the technological development of their lights and the design trends of each era. During restoration in our workshop, we often come across these differing logos alluding to their date of manufacture allowing us to record and date each light accurately. Honouring the original design, we tailor each light’s restoration accordingly, preserving their heritage and ensuring their use for decades more to come.
Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension wire, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, chain suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).

REVO was founded in the early 20th century and became a household name in the 1930s, when electric street lighting was widely introduced throughout the UK. Based in Tipton, Staffordshire, REVO engineers were famed for their creativity, often developing styles of lighting individual to the towns for which they were designed.
