1930s German factory lights

Era: 1930s Origin: Germany

Bauhaus style German factory lights from the 1930s, each comprising an enamelled steel shade and short neck with a lacquered steel gallery. The lights have been carefully restored with small amounts of wear testament to their heritage.

Germany

Origin: Germany

German designs are famed for their clean lined and well engineered approach. The Bauhaus School played a major role in combining design with engineering during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A number of lights we salvage were influenced by Bauhaus School design. From the mid to late 20th century, Communist East Germany produced a wide variety of lights for both industrial, commercial and residential applications, often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Before a light can be restored, any damaged outdated components will require repair or replacing. As part of this work we replace original imperial screws with their modern-day metric counterparts and rework their screw ports to take them. We replace the original electrics with brand new, fully certified EN60598 components - this gives you peace of mind, knowing your vintage light is as safe to use as any modern light.

Product details

Each light is supplied with a new bayonet (B22) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, 2mtrs elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable or wire suspension, please just ask).
