Shooting stars: The Leonid meteor shower

Shot by Stephane Vetter, a beautiful timelapse of the night sky captures this Autumn's Leonid shower.
Here at Skinflint we're going to have a go at meteor spotting. This winter, as we pass through the Geminid shower, the best viewing will be on the evening of December 13th through to the morning of the 14th, with the show peaking at around 1am. If it's clear then it's a perfect excuse for a night of mulled wine and mince-pies in the garden. And as the moon will be new, the sky will be nice and dark. Fingers crossed it's a clear night!
