Origin: Poland

Many of the products we salvage and restore from the former Eastern Bloc were produced in Poland. As with the majority of lights designed and manufactured under Communist rule - during the period from the end of the Second World War to the fall of the Berlin wall - they are defined by a clean industrial aesthetic, with the same design often manufactured in three scaled versions to cater for varying bulb wattage.

Restoration

Wherever possible we retain the original finish of a light in respect to its authentic history and heritage. However, sometimes leaving a surface as we find it just isn’t possible. These pendants have been restored in our workshops: first soda blasted to remove their degraded surface; then polished to add shine and grain, bringing out the light’s character through surface and patina. This also highlights any original manufacturer’s casting details.

Each light is supplied with a new screw (E27) lamp holder, 2mtrs of suspension chain, elephant grey braided cable and ceiling mounting plate. (If you would prefer another colour cable, wire suspension or an E26 lamp holder for use in the USA, please just ask).
