GBK, Bedford
Located in Bedford town centre, GBK has opened another successful restaurant designed by architectural practice Moreno Masey.
It is the seventh Gourmet Burger Kitchen project in which original industrial lighting by skinflint features. This time different dining atmospheres and spaces are defined within the restaurant through a clever use of interior styles, materials and lighting. The industrial interior showcases exposed pendant light fittings alongside feature black and red brickwork, stainless steel table tops and leather banquette seating.
A number of skinflint products were utilised throughout the restaurant. Salvaged pendants from the Eastern Block and fluorescent lights salvaged from a large 1950s pottery in Stoke on Trent hang above the tables in the main dining area. Two reclaimed industrial factory pendant lights with conical steel shades are also suspended above the food pass providing feature and function.
